eBay better than a mall Shopping Become A Smart Buyer
If your on eBay, it’s safe to say you’re looking for a good deal on something. If you’re looking to save BIG but still look like you’ve spent all your hard earned money on a single outfit, then this is the right guide for you! Already know what you’re looking for? Great! Here are the tips you’ll need to hunt your item down.
Tips On Finding Your Item (…at a bargain!):
1.Compare, compare, compare! You did a search, found you’re item, …finished? No. Do your research first. Try a “Completed Listings” search to see what other people have payed for that same item. This will help you get a good idea of the final cost. If you wait a couple weeks you might find that the demand has gone down, as well as the prices. Trust me, there will be more of the same item(s) you’re looking for.In the mean time, put the items you’ve found in the “Items I’m Watching” section in your My eBay page. Check on them regularly. You might just find an item thats ending soon, that’s far below the average going price.
2.Buy off-season! Looking for the perfect winter coat? Buy it in July! The price difference is unbelievable! Some one could have bought that coat and worn it once, decided to sell it on eBay in summer, and no one would bid on it. Oh, but not you! You’re clever. You buy it in summer, (dirt cheap, of course) keep it in your closet and in a few months you’ll have a like new, $500 coat for less than $100.
3.Don’t forget shipping! Finding a bargain is great, but finding out that s/h will cost you double what you paid for the item defeats the whole purpose.
Don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, but know the brands you like? Even better! Find quality clothing and accessories from your favorite brands on eBay!
Tips On Finding The Best Deals On Famous Brands:
1.Use the Advanced Search link. Here you can put in a maximum price (as well as other great features) and the search will only show items at that or below that price. This is very helpful when searching for a brand where there may be hundreds (or thousands) of items available. Then you can search by Matching Categories. Look at the example below.
Example: You do an advanced search for the brand Hot Topic. You put in your max. price of $5 and you’re search comes up with 200 matching items. Within that search you will see a “Matching Categories” area to the left of the screen. This is where you can start getting specific about what you’d like to buy. (i.e. womens clothing, men’s clothing, jewelry, skirts, shirts..etc) By doing a search this way I found a “Bettie Page” shirt for $2.
2.Find auctions that end late at night or during work hours. This works! Not too many people will bid on an item that ends in the middle of the night.
3.Some sellers only sell a specific brand or style of clothing. If you find a seller who’s auctions are full of the things you like, keep them on your “Favorite Sellers” list. Look them up occasionally to see if you can find a good deal.
Extra tips:
1. If you like a certain fashion trend or style then get creative when searching. You can search for specific prints (poka dots, leopard, zebra print.) or logos/pictures (hearts, skulls, music groups etc.) This way, you can find items that you like, and might have missed on a previous search.
2. Misspelled words! If an item is not spelled correctly, no one will find it. So it’s up to you to find those misspelled auctions! Brand names that are hard to spell are the best! You might find a Louis Vuitton (or a Louie Vuitton) purse at a steal!
