ABOUT LEATHER BAGS…THE BRAND TAG: Fake bags will have fabric tags glued or sewn on. An authentic Kate Spade always
embosses the name directly on the leather. A fake purse may have a
fabric
tag from another Kate Spade fabric product glued or sewn on to the leather bag. Remember: Fabric on leather…it’s FAKE! THE EXAMPLES
BELOW ARE ALL AUTHENTIC.  (L to R) Photo 1 is embossed directly on the
leather.  Photo 2 is gold stamped.  Photo 3 is on the strap of a
hair-calf leather bag from Fall 2001.

ABOUT FABRIC BAGS…THE BRAND TAG: As for Kate Spade fabric bags…the tag
should be sewn on. If the tag is glued on…it’s FAKE! Also notice the
lower case lettering…this is the standard font for ALL Kate Spade
products.  THE EXAMPLES BELOW ARE ALL AUTHENTIC. (L to R) Photo 1 is
the most current tag.  Photo 2 is a tag from some nylon purses and bags
made in China from 2002 till now…it’s a slightly smaller label with
letters that are closer together.  Photo 3 is from the 1994-1996
collections. Similar to photo 1 but the letters are larger. Photo 4
Since 2002 many purses have been made with leather labels only on the
sides of the bag.
